Fall 2010

Hi!
I adopted Noah last month (the 1-year-old German Shepherd mix) and renamed him Remington, or Remmy for short.  He absolutely loves it here down in good ol' Ridgway!  Though he wasn't a fan of swimming in the creek yet, he LOVES going for car rides and walks in the woods.  Every morning, after he eats his breakfast, Remmy runs back the hall to jump in bed with me for a little snuggle time.  Then, before I go to work, we play his favorite game:  keep-away.  He hates seeing me leave for work, but doesn't leave my side when I get home; he just loves his momma!
Remmy still needs a bit of training, but he is a smart little puppy with lots of love to share.  I'm sooo glad I got him.  Thank you to everyone at the ANNA shelter...you guys rock!

Wanted to give you guys an update on our newly adopted puppy Quill. She is doing very well and adjusting rather quickly. Working on kennel training. The kids just adore her, especially my 3 year old daughter, she just loves her Quilly Bean! She came down with Kennel Cough, but seems to be getting better quick with the antibiotic! She is enjoying her walks to the park, and all her new playmates (My 2 kids and 5 nieces and nephews). Thank you so much for caring for her! :-)
Sincerly,
The Olmsteads

I just received the attached update on Gunner the Beautiful GSP we
fostered and then placed for you a few months back. He is doing
fabulously in his new home and is much loved by his new family and
sister.
I thought you would appreciate hearing back from us because I love
hearing from our adopters. We fostered him for about 4 weeks and our
only regret is that we adopted him out instead of keeping him for
ourselves. He is a wonderful boy.
Please contact us again if you ever get or hear of GSP's needing rescue

Thank You

Hello everyone at the ANNA Shelter!

Luna is doing great!  She is the sweetest little girls and she is fitting right into our family!  Her flees and worms are totally gone (thank goodness) but she is still sneezing a lot and has a lot of mucus coming out of her nose.  She's on her second medication and seems to be doing better.  Here are a couple of photos from Halloween (we were all elves) and with her big sister Camilla.

Thanks for everything!

Hello to all my friends at the ANNA shelter.  I just wanted to let you know that I'm doing GREAT!  My new family is just in love with me!  The two little girls renamed me "Lily", which I caught onto quickly.  In fact, my family is always telling me how smart I am.  All I have to do is sit, shake or lay down and they give me a treat.  I get to go for lots of rides with them to the park, grandma's house, school, and even the Belle Valley Fire Department.  I'm quit a regular there because the big guy in the house is a volunteer.  The little girls are just adorable.  They fight over who gets to hold my leash when we walk and they always take me to the park and run and chase me around and around.  The lady of the house says this works out perfectly because the dog AND the kids get their energy out!  At night, I get to sleep wherever I want.  I usually start out in the little girls bed, then when the big guy goes to bed I like to cuddle with him and we stretch out so much that the lady has to squeeze in on the edge!  Then every morning I wake them up about 5:30 or 6:00 for a potty break.  They say that they don't need an alarm clock anymore...whatever that is and that they wish I could tell the difference between the weekdays and weekends.  I am having so much fun with my new family and I just wanted to say thank you for all you did for me and all the wonderful care you gave me at the shelter!  Without you, I'd still be wondering around the streets.  You saved my life and you made my new family very happy!  Your Pal, Lily

We adopted Kassie, now named Bria (which means strong in Irish) who was one of your special needs dogs is doing great. She has lost about 10 pounds, the rest of the quills were removed by our vet and has healed nicely and her hair is growing back. One quill was deep in her sinus cavity. She still isn't fond of being brushed and is still in need of a bit more training, but she has adjusted well to our house. She also had a UTI and kennel cough when we brough her home. She is in so much better health now and is running around a lot more since loosing weight. She loves to be the center of attention though and loves to be on the couch. I could not imagine our life without her now.

Sincerely,
Ristina and Seaara Durivage

Dear Staff,  I am sending this letter regarding our recent adoption of Hazel.

My husband Mike and I were at the Paws in the Park with our 9 yr old Pointer/Collie Mix, Max. We walked by your table and had to do a double take. There was a picture of our dog! We looked closer and it was Hazel. She had been in your shelter for an extended period. My husband said we HAD to go see her. It was fate that she looked just like our baby Max!  The following Monday we came to the shelter with Max and met Hazel. She came home with us the next day! She is a loving dog with a lot of energy! She has put the pep back in Maxs step. We are grateful to have her!

Hello everyone at the ANNA Shelter!
As you can see, we love our adopted pup.  My younger daughter really wanted to name her Charlotte, so we changed it from Star.  Charlotte is doing well as far as behavior.  We'll hope for the best and prepare for the worst.  After all, she still is young and needs our TLC.
I do believe she may have contracted kennel cough and will need to make sure she sees the vet for her cough, though.  Hopefully, the other animals don't contract it as well.  We will keep you updated.  Thank you again for taking her in until she found her new home with us.
Take care for now,
Valeri Panetta and girls, Charlotte, too!
