Athena is the most beautiful cat ever!  She is such a joy!  This is her favorite place to nap - in the bathroom sink! - :)

My husband and I adopted Baby Girl two weeks ago from your adoption clinic at PetCo.  I wanted to let you know that although she was considered "special needs", she is just thriving at our house!  I had concerns about her interacting with our other cat and our dog, but the three have worked it out and are becoming more friendly as each day goes by.  We were told that she would hiss and bite a lot - not at all!!!  She is very cuddly and affectionate.  She curls up with all of us and loves to be petted and brushed.

Thank you for this wonderful addition to our home!

Dear staff at A.N.N.A Shelter,

I am writing to update you on the status of "Blossom", who we have renamed "Gracie Mae."  Gracie is the perfect addition to our family.  After our dog "Boo Boo" passed away on April 9, 2010, our family was heartbroken and felt the need to fill the void created by his passing.  After perusing the internet for a couple days, we happened upon your website and a picture of a dog named “Blossom” that made us feel that she was meant to become our dog.  We decided to venture two hours north on April 12 to see this dog who, except for the description provided, we knew nothing about.  When we arrived at the shelter, we were excited to go see what we thought would be a smaller medium sized dog…well, it turns out that she’s a full-sized Lab!  Despite her size, we felt she still belonged with us.  She did wonderfully on the car ride home (we did not hear a peep out of Gracie)  She expressed her joy by freely doling out kisses.  When we got her home and into the house, we realized just how big a full-sized lab is!  But, it turns out she is a gentle giant and size doesn’t matter.  We bathed her, fed her, and gave the tour of the house.  She’s been a perfect fit ever since.  She has only had one accident, but quickly got the idea of what “Gracie, go pee,” means.  Gracie loves all of her toys, especially the interactive toys (it seems that she thinks squeaky toys are below her level of intelligence).  She loves the four cats with whom she resides, and her favorite thing to do, when she’s not napping, is scoot them around the house with her nose, propelling them from behind.  Gracie is quickly learning which of the cats will tolerate this without giving her a quick smack on the nose with their declawed paws.  She is ever so excited when her pack returns home, and is never lying far from someone’s feet.  Gracie loves everybody and allows our neighbor’s one-year-old boy to sit on her.  There was a short adjustment period on both our parts, but as she opened up, she began to show her true personality.  She is a big baby who loves to go for walks, play ball, and to be cuddled.  Her dandruff has cleared up now that she is eating high-end dog food.  Gracie Mae is a wonderful, beautiful dog who has filled the void left by our beloved Boo Boo.  Thank you all for caring for our Gracie until we were able to find this perfect dog and bring her to her forever-home.  I have enclosed a picture of Gracie Mae for you.  Once again, thank you all.

                                                                                                Sincerely,

                                                                                                            Sharon and Gracie Mae Gibson

Dear staff of the Anna Shelter,
As you can see our dogs and birds are a bunch of fun. The dogs are Boomer, Bella, and Lucy, and the birds are Staggy,Jerry, Lucci, and Hedwig. Staggy even learned to talk and bark like a dog.

Hello ANNA Shelter Peoples

I hope you remember me! You called me Happy but my new family calls me Harley. I like that name a lot! I even have a tag with my name on it! I am special! I thought I’d email you (with the help of my new Mom) and tell you how great life is at my new home. My family is really funny and we love each other a lot. Then there is the cat. Well – I keep trying to be buddies with her and bring her my toys and stuff, but she just growls at me. Darn cat drinks out of my water bowl though, so she can’t be too mad at me. One of my first new toys was a rawhide bone. I love my bone! I do! I do! I do! It’s my favoritest thing! (Mom says that’s not a real word but I wanted to use it anyway)

I can’t understand why no one else in my family wants to chew on it, even though I put it in their lap to try. That’s ok, more for me!

Oh! And I love my squeaky toys too! They make the neatest noise!

Yup, I’m a lucky dog to have found such a nice family! We are doing great and getting along just fine. Even the cat doesn’t mind me so much anymore. Sometimes she even sits near me, but not too close.

I love to play and eat and nap and play and dig holes in the back yard and chew my bone and squeak my toys! I love to be brushed – it feels so good it makes my hind legs go like crazy!

Well anyway, I want to go take a nap now, so I will say good bye and thank you for finding me such a nice family!

*Lick*

Love,  Harley
