Winter 2009

Jackson came home with me on May 2, 2009. My husband had not had a chance to meet him, but I felt that this dog would be gone if I waited too long. Thanks to my dedicated friend Becky for her help at the shelter, and for finding this marvelous buddy for me.
"Jack" and I bonded over some early problems that he had. He recovered very nicely, with the help of Dr Rummel.
Since then, Jack has become my best buddy and a neighborhood legend. He now knows these commands: sit, lie down, "bang!" (plays dead), roll over, jump, high five, come, shake paw, bring, wait, drop, stay, sit pretty, OK, no, and jumps through a hoop!!!
He is an awesome watchdog, and backs off on command. He has learned the invisible fence very well, as deer, other dogs, vehicles, golfers and even squirrels do not take him out of his boundary. I felt that I had wanted one more good dog in my life, but I never imagined that I could have this special creature as a constant companion.
He is handsome, as you can see, with the softest black coat! Border collie, lab mix is what they tell me! I look forward to years of enjoyment with this dog and want to thank the ANNA Shelter for the work that they do.

To the staff at the ANNA Shelter - We adopted Stewart a month ago from the shelter, and we certainly chose the best dog we could have. He fits in perfectly with our family and is so much fun to be around each and every day. We’ve had some issues with him jumping over our fence a few times, but each time he has, he has ran down to the neighbor’s house to play with their 2 year lab. He’s always excited when someone comes over to the house, and he loves running around in the back yard too. I gave him an old soccer ball and that is probably his favorite toy…he could run for hours and play with that. I also attached a few pictures, like you had asked for when we adopted him. Hope you guys enjoy the pictures and thank you for all you guys do. = Justin Whitford

I just wanted to say HI! To all my wonderful friends at the Anna Shelter, it’s me Bear! You will remember me as Moose though. I was not at your shelter very long only a week before my new mommy and daddy came to get me. I LOVE my new home, it’s big and comfy and I have a backyard to run in and bet you didn’t know but I am really good at soccer! My new family plays with me all the time and they can never get the ball from me! I am so happy at my new home, I now have a mommy and daddy, and 2 sisters and a baby brother and 2 cat siblings (they don’t like me very much though so they live in the basement now). My new family tried to put me in this crate at night and when they have to go to work but since I was never in one before I didn’t like it so I broke it so I wouldn’t have to go in it anymore. And I don’t! They can trust me, I don’t chew anything (except my toys) and I never have accidents (anymore). I just wanted to let you know that I am very much loved and having a blast at my new home. Thank you for keeping me safe until my new family came to get me. Tell Martha my best friend at the shelter I said hello and hope she gets a family soon also!
Woof, Woof (lots of love)

Hello all at the A.N.N.A. Shelter!
Just wanted to update you on how Cassie is doing. She is such a wonderful, intelligent, and loving dog! She is a lab/beagle mix that we adopted in August. We liked the name you gave her so much we decided to keep it. She is doing very well and loves her new home, including her early Christmas present-a new doggie bed! Thank you so much for taking care of our little girl before we found her. She is such a joy for our whole family. We don't know how we lived without her. Thanks again!
Sincerely,
Stephanie and Scott Nick

We came from Celoron NY on 1/21/10 to meet with Shortie, he and my dogs did not get along, so we went out back to see the other dogs. Blossom caught our eye, & we decided she was the one for us. We renamed her Addison and brought her home! She is doing WONDERFUL. She had a few accidents the first day, but as soon as she learned the routine, we have had none at all. She loves all the cats she lives with, especially Itty Bitty Kitty. She loves Rufus & Teddy, & she is the perfect addition to our family. She is gentle, calm, loving and fun. She and my children get along great too! We are blessed to have her. We will continue to send pictures! Thank you for such a sweet girl!

Bradley is doing just great, but his name is now Gabriel. He is such a loving edition to the house! I lost my last baby in December 2009, he was a 16 1/2 yr. old cocker. Gabriel adapted really quick, very playful and loves to cuddle. His fav. toy is a tennis ball (we play extreme tennis every nite!) I can't wait to take him for long summer walks and to play in the backyard. With the weather he hasn't been out much. His 1st vet check-up was good, just some tartar and earwax which we are working on. Thanks so much for bringing the spunky little guy into my life! Picture is attached.

To all the WONDERFUL staff at the ANNA Shelter,
We just wanted to give you an update on Manny (right); Duck, who's name is now Toby (center); and Sam (left). The black cat in the center is K.C. and was adopted form the Meadville Humane Society in July if 2005.
Sam chose us as her forever family in October of 2008, and she has been an absolute joy. She has taken over the "Mom" role that was left open when our older female Rose passed away in May of 2009. Manny and Toby came to us later in the summer and we love them all dearly. Toby is a very loving, sweet boy who loves to be snuggled and held. Manny is our "trouble child". He is very curious and active. He loves to be up as high as he can get (counters, table, on top of the TV). He shows how much we are missed by latching onto our legs with all four (very sharp) claws when we come through the door. He is a doll and I wouldn't trade him for anything. They all have such different personalities, but as you can see form the picture, are a very happy family.
Thank you all so much for taking good care of them so they could be given the opportunity to brighten our home and our hearts.
Jeff and Leslie Sulz
