I just wanted to follow up on the sweet cat I adopted from your shelter on June 14th. His shelter name was Beetlejuice but I wanted something more distinguished so I renamed him William.
William is doing just great! He loves his older brother Henry and has made himself right at home in his new surroundings. I wanted to share a precious picture of the two of them playing around the litter box. William is the one on the right, hiding under the newspaper. He is so full of fun and energy that his brother has a hard time keeping up with him! Thank you so much for this wonderful addition to my family.

Hi guys!
So back in February-ish I think, we adopted Joon from one of the cat rooms at the shelter...she since became very vocal and let her presence known as the princess of the house...that is until last weekend when we saw kitten 2945 at your PetSmart location and decided he would make the perfect Benny!!! We brought him home, and Joon wasn't too thrilled at first, but they have made very fast friends. They LOVE playing tag, and you can't sit down at our house without putting your feet on the coffee table! Benny settled in very quickly, and fits the profile of a pesky little brother quite nicely...Joon has made an excellent big sister, and we're glad that she has a friend to play with while we're at work. We're still workin on getting Benny's shots up to date, and he was a little under-weight, but he's eating like a healthy growing boy, and we love having them both!!! Thanks bunches for the wonderful additions to our family!!!

Dear Anna Shelter,
So sorry it has taken me so long to send you guys some pictures of Jake, the beagle mix that my family and I adopted May 20th. He is doing FANTASTIC! He has grown like a weed, and he has learned a lot of new things. He knows how to sit, stay, lay down, give, drop, go over, weave, come, up, down, roll over (still somewhat working on that), give both paws, spin, sit pretty, smell (for tracking), and I know i'm forgetting some ;). He is doing well with potty training too! I have attached pictures of him so you can see how much he has grown!
Thanks so much for letting me take Jake home!

Just wanted to update you all and send some pictures. We adopted German Shepherd Lexie (Now answering to Ember) almost two weeks ago. She is fitting in perfectly here with our other dog Fern. She has put on some weight and has a vet appointment tomorrow to get checked out and see if that hernia should be repaired. She is one of the sweetest and best trained dogs we have ever owned, never a single accident in the house and she knows every command we have tried with her so far. She has even taught our younger lab a thing or two since she has been with us! I cannot say enough good things about you guys and your shelter! Thank you for our wonderful new dog. Feel free to add us to your Happy Tales!

Hi Friends at the ANNA Shelter:
We adopted Ozzie a couple of weeks ago. I have been trying to email you pictures of Ozzie and his new big brother, Cliff (known to you as Lucas), but our email keeps coming back.
I just wanted to let you know that Ozzie and Cliff are doing great and the transition was a very easy one. Cliff was so excited when we introduced him to Ozzie. They hit it off right away. We couldn't be happier with our beloved pets. Cliff has been with us for over a year now, and he makes us laugh every day. Ozzie, although with us just a short time, is already a part of our family and we love him dearly. Thank you, ANNA Shelter, for doing what you do and giving wonderful animals like our boys the second chance that they deserve.
Sincerely,
Kristen, Jake, Lawrence, Madelene & Colten

I want to share my story..
I adopted Wesley who is now, Randy about 4 1/2 months ago. Randy has brought so much fun, excitement, love, and happiness to my life. We are constantly going to the part to run around, go for long walks/runs, playing fetch, going to the beach, and pretty much everywhere I go, he comes! Randy has been the best addition to my life, and i'm so thankful for the ANNA shelter, and all they do for their animals. I'm glad Randy has found a forever friend and home with me!
Thank you!
Dana Webb

I don't have pictures of the two cats we got from the ANNA Shelter, but you do. I have to write.
Josey was adopted from your shelter on 05/20/10. She as cat #2711.
Miss Kitty was adopted from your shelter on 06/02/10. She was cat #2757.
Josey was adopted first but shortly after I got her home, I discovered she had some problems in her throat. I vetted her to upwards of $500.00 but the problem was finally taken care of. I got Miss Kitty a week after Josey. However, I discovered that Missy (renamed) had problems, not of a physical nature but of a mental nature.
I don't know if her former owners kept her in a bedroom, treated her bad or ignored her; she had NO socialization skills, she didn't come out of my bedroom for over two weeks. I kept food near her, a separate litter box and I talked to her constantly. I laid on the floor often 'cause she hid under the bed; I'd just talk to her, and if she'd come near to the edge I'd touch her and pet her side. She had a terrible case of dandruff, I began brushing her - which she seemed to really enjoy - so I did it often but with a soft hand and much gentle talking. I was careful to keep my voice calm and Josey was curious for sure and once she felt better, was in there sitting nearby.
We are now to the end of September. Josey is 100% healthy, she's a treasure. She is vocal - talks all the time. She chases her tail like a dog. Missy now spends a great deal of time out in the house, her and Josey eat side-by-side. She still bolts at a loud noise or if the grandkids come-she's back under the bed.
They play, they chase each other and they play with them little mice. I have to watch, to throw them away once they start to come apart. I didn't remove the claws on either of these two girls..they both use the scratching pole, nothing else. It took about 2 weeks to train to it. Both have excellent appetites, both are loved, INSIDE CATS and cared for. These two tuxedo females have good lives and I love them very much.
Thank you for what you do. SO many cats...I can't understand why people don't spay or neuter their pets. So many die from the indifference. I look every day on Craig's list for Erie and Meadville - and the numbers of just born baby cats and dogs; put in there day after day.......it's just sickening. If I had more room, I'd come get a few more, but I think two is all I can handle.
Warm regards,
Jeanne Brace
